After the 3 walks and you extend your outside leg are your hips completely squared to the pole or are they slightly opened up in the direction you are about to spin in?
Just starting out, love the instruction so far, just one question…how does one keep from getting dizzy in this? 🙂
Use spotting. Pick one point in the room–it can be an object, a corner, something on the wall, anything that is stationary–and fix your gaze on that point. As you spin, keep your gaze locked onto that object, and when you have to turn your head, turn it fast and get your gaze right back onto that object. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the helpful detailed breakdowns! I have a question about fireman spin. How do you keep your body/hips from falling into the pole as you spin around? I’ve done fireman with my lower arm lower on the pole and pushing the body away from the pole but since your lower arm is higher up here is it your inside leg pushing into the pole that keeps your hips out or is it the momentum of your spin? I find myself falling up against the pole, especially on my weaker side. Thank you! I really enjoyed this first lesson!
Hello Tara, loving this! I did week 1 and week 2 is there any way I could go back and repeat these weeks? It would help me to be able to do that. I have other courses that allow that since they are already purchased.
Oops I figured it out.????
Okay, okay. I’m starting to get it.
